Paula Ham-Owner/Proprietor
Hello, I am Paula Ham, owner of Kamp Ham. I have been involved in the pet industry for over 40 years. I have raised, trained, and shown multiple breeds though my specialty is the Pug. I have had three Top 20 Performance Pugs in my family. My Wilson was Top 5 Rally or Obedience for 9 of his 11.5 years. RIP my Little Lion.
Today, I have several AKC Grand Champions; Bur-dee, Dutch, and Wilma have all achieved this fabulous milestone under my care. Wilma won first Award of Merit at Westminster 2022 and is the number 3 owner handler pug in the country, and in 2023 received Award of Merit at the Pug Dog Club of America National show and was invited to Great Britain to show in Crufts. She also gave birth to a new line of champions. 2D Sparo is a Champion and is only 3 points from the Grand. Lucy and BeaBea are looking gorgeous and very promising at carrying the legacy.
Kamp Ham is an all-inclusive boutique facility offering care as though your babies are at home. At Kamp Ham we do: playtime, snackies, naps, butt scratches, belly rubs, sleeping on the furniture, nightime in the big bed. Whatever your home routine is, Kamp Ham replicates this. We crate only when you request it.
Is your baby a senior or have special needs? No problem. At Kamp Ham, I specialize in the care of smaller breeds. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and those with special needs--they will receive care and playtime tailored for their needs. At Kamp Ham, medications are never an upcharge. Neither are pictures of your kamper.
My pet sitting service has limited space and I keep my groups small, which ensures your babies get maximum TLC while here. Kamp Ham fills up fast, especially around holidays so book sooner than later. Kamp Ham is insured for your peace of mind.
I would love to meet you and your dog before they come for a stay. Please see our Policy page for more information about Meet-n-Greets.
Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you and your little kamper soon!

Karen Rudat-Kamp Kounselor
Karen is the relief Kamp counselor on site when Paula is traveling. She is retired from two 20+ year careers: the first as a masters- prepared nurse and healthcare administrator, the second as a self-employed artist and decorative painter.
She has been involved in the rescue, adoption and care of pugs and pug mixes for 25 years and was a volunteer of the year with Pughearts of Houston. As a foster there, she specialized in the rehab of complex medical and behavioral cases. Her online guides for creating pack harmony and housebreaking are still referenced by fosters and adopters.
Karen is uniquely qualified to manage a large pack, and the dogs love and respect her as a leader.
