The howlidays are here...and danger lurks in the kitchen.

Bur-dee here. The howl-idays are upon us. With lots of food, it is tempting to steal from momma's plate. But there are some foods that can make us sick or even kill us. Foods like chocolate, onions, avocado, raisins and grapes, and anything with xylitol are dangerous to us. Keep us safe when the house is full of family and friends and keep these foods away from us.

It is also a good idea to check our tags, chips and any escape routes when the house fills with guests. Going out of town? Book with Kamp Ham and your babies can hang out safely with me.

XOXO,
Bur-dee

Burd here. A couple of weeks ago I had a very busy weekend. I did several shows, with two days confirmation in Conroe, then off to agility trials. As you can see, I cleaned 'em out of blue ribbons. Got lots of action shots, too. Hope you like them.

I do think blue is my signature color....doncha think so?

XOXO,
Bur-dee

Please respect our quiet time: why late pick-ups are not allowed

Bur-dee here. One question momma gets a lot is whether someone can pick up their kamper late at night when they get in. The answer is no.

I will resurrect an older post for this one. Kamp Ham has set pick up times and there are a few reasons why:

    1. Your pets are creatures of habit, and need a consistent routine to be comfortable and happy.  Our times are set to not disturb your pet during his or her dinner or sleeping time, as well as allow you plenty of time to settle into your routine post-trip. Disruption of kamper schedules causes anxiety, and we appreciate your cooperation in avoiding this.

    2. There are other kampers and their comfort is our priority! They deserve the time to be cared for and relax without interruptions in their routine. As stated above, pets are comforted by set routines that they can count on, including rest time, and it is our pleasure to give them the downtime they deserve.

    3. Finally, this is our private home, and we have neighbors who do not wish to be disturbed. We all love our private time and fully appreciate kamper parents sticking to the designated hours of pick-up.

While late pick-ups are not an option, arrangements can be made. For example, some of our kampers have been dropped off at their home, fed, let out and left to greet their momma at home when her late flight got in (with an extra fee for transportation).
And emergencies do happen...so contact us.

I understand how you miss your kamper and how eager you are to be reunited with them. I have been the one waiting to get home. But make sure that you get home and situated first and stick to the designated hours. Your kamper will be happier for it.

XOXO,
Bur-dee
