Sleepover Kamp Price Increase-January

12/13/2016

Bur-dee here, notifying our kampers and their people of a price change. As of January 1, 2017 Kamp Ham will have a modest increase for all sleepover kampers.

Small dogs will be $30 a night, and larger dogs up to 70 pounds will be $40 a night. Sorry, we cannot accommodate your gentle giants at this time.

All of the Kamp Ham features you come to expect will remain; unlike many other places, we don’t cage you most of the day and we won’t charge you for pictures, extra playtime, medication or treats.

Please remember that bigger dog space is very limited, and we may not be able to accommodate you if you don’t book early. Smaller kampers may want to book early as well! Hope to see y'all around the kampfire soon!

XOXO,
Bur-dee

Baby, it's cold outside

Bur-dee here! After a soggy doggy weekend, we get a reprieve! The next couple of days will be beautiful but by the weeks’ end it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Tonight a brrrrr, cold front will arrive here. Get your winter coats ready! Thursday and Friday daytime temperatures will be in the 40s with temperatures dipping to near or below freezing for areas north of Houston early Friday.

How Cold is Too Cold from our friends at Texas A&M gives several pointers:

Indoor pets that are not acclimated to cold weather should not be left outside when the average daily temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cats, even if acclimated to outdoor temperatures should always have access to warm shelters. Kittens, cats advanced in age, or sick should never be kept outdoors when the temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Outdoor kitty friends will appreciate a warm place to hide. Don’t forget to thump the hood of your car in case one seeks shelter in your engine block.

Sweaters and coats work, but make sure they are clean and dry, not too loose or too tight.

At Kamp Ham, we don’t believe in outdoor dogs….your kampers will be toasty and warm with plenty of beds and blankets (unless it is potty time). Rest assured that your kampers will be warm and dry when the cold blast comes through.

Stay warm, my friends!

XOXO,
Bur-dee

Happy Howl-idays: new changes for the holiday kampers

12/6/2016

Bur-dee here. I know it has been a long time and I have been lax in my posts, but I have been busy. Winning rally, confirmation, and agility; I am killing it.

However, we have to talk about some policy changes. Momma and I lost three clients from last minute cancellations during a long holiday weekend. Since most people are already booked, there is no way we can make up the losses. This is, unfortunately, not the first time it has happened so we have to make some changes.

As of December 1, we have new policies for the howl-idays.

Howl-iday Rates
Any booking that falls in a holiday period below will be subject to a holiday deposit of two days (the minimum stay), which will then be deducted from your final bill. If you will be staying only two days, your payment in full will be due to secure your place.

Please note that our holiday deposits are strictly NON REFUNDABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE – the only exception would be a bonafide family emergency, and your deposit can be used for a later stay that expires in 12 months.

Your booking is confirmed only once we have received your deposit/payment in full.

 Important Notes:

A minimum 2 day stay applies to all peak period and holiday bookings.

If a pet is picked up earlier than their intended stay, the owner will still be charged for the length of stay booked. There are no exceptions for this rule.

Peak and Holiday Periods

Spring Break                Friday preceding through last Sunday
Memorial Day               Friday through Tuesday
Independence Day          July 1 through July 5
Labor Day                  Friday through Tuesday
Thanksgiving                Wednesday before Thanksgiving day through Sunday
Christmas/New Year’s     December 22 through January 3

We apologize for the inconvenience but want to continue serving our area with the best home away from home for your fur babies. We do love our kampers, year round, and hope to see you soon!

XOXO,
Bur-dee
